Tanker lorries are built to safely transport liquids and gases, but when a leak happens, it can cause chaos on the road.
Recently, a tanker lorry reportedly leaked gas while traveling along the East Coast Expressway (LPT), reducing visibility for drivers and causing widespread concern.
Highway turns into a ‘cloud’
A TikTok video posted by @intanilma88 captured the shocking scene, showing thick white smoke engulfing the highway as firefighters worked to control the situation.

Speaking to WeirdKaya, Intan confirmed that the incident took place at LPT 1 but she wasn’t sure what type of gas was leaking from the tanker.
The viral video showed a tanker lorry stopped on the road shoulder, with heavy white vapour spilling onto the road.

Drivers were forced to slow down due to poor visibility, making the situation even more tense.
Netizens concerned
The comment section was filled with mixed reactions. Many were worried about potential hazards, wondering if the gas was flammable or toxic.
Many of them also highlighted the importance of using a fog lamp in scenarios like this.
“This is exactly the time to use the rear fog lamp. Where are the folks who keep their fog lamps on 24/7?”

“It’s strange to see so many people in the comments not knowing the function of fog lamps. Didn’t you study properly when taking your driving test? I suspect a lot of kids are in this comment section.”

Some of them also reminded the owner not to use the hazard light when the car is moving.
“Sis, next time, don’t turn on your hazard lights when your car is moving. It can confuse the drivers behind you. Hazard lights should only be used when your car is stationary. Just turn on your headlights and rear fog light if you have one.”

Although the exact cause of the leak remains unclear, this incident serves as a reminder to always be cautious on the road.
