‘Talk Some More Lah!’ – Man Allegedly Slapped By Commuter On S’pore LRT For Yapping Too Loudly

Yap too loud, kena slap, allegedly.
A confrontation on Singapore’s LRT was caught on video after a passenger talking loudly on the phone was allegedly slapped by another commuter, though the moment of the slap itself wasn’t recorded.

The incident, reported by Stomp, took place on the Punggol LRT line on Nov 16 and has since sparked discussion about public transport etiquette.

Loud phone call went on for nearly 5 minutes

According to the individual who submitted the video, the man had been speaking loudly on his mobile phone from the moment he boarded the train, continuing for “a good five minutes” and disturbing nearby passengers.

Man in Adidas shirt allegedly confronted him

The witness said a man wearing an Adidas shirt eventually walked up and allegedly slapped the loud commuter on the head.

“The person didn’t hit back,” he said. “He stayed seated at first but later started yelling.”

A woman then stood up and told the man to stop talking so loudly. It remains unclear whether she knew the man in the Adidas shirt.

The confrontation ended when the loud passenger alighted from the train.
