Muar MP and MUDA president Syed Saddiq is widely known for his fiery speeches at political rallies and in Parliament, but did you know that he’s a writer as well?
The 31-year-old politician recently announced on his X account that he will be releasing a second book which documents his political journey over the course of the previous two years.
Syed Saddiq’s 2nd book to be released soon
According to the tweet, Syed Saddiq wrote that the new book is called ‘Jalan Tegak’ (Straight Path) and that it took him a long time to bring it to fruition.

“For two years, I went through the process of drafting, writing and editing to translate my 30 years of ups and downs in one book.
“A lot of things had happened in my life over the past two years. Some have turned from friends to enemies. There are also those who (still) fight alongside you. I shall tell everything in this book.
I have made my fair share of mistakes in life (some success stories as well) and i’d like to share them will all of you with the hopes that it teaches us a valuable lesson to grow stronger & wiser.”
Syed Saddiq also added that the book will have more than 300 pages, which is three times more than the number of pages in his first book ‘Becoming An Agent of Change’, which has 106 pages and was published in Jan 2021.

While the Muar MP didn’t disclose the exact date of the book’s release, it is believed that it will be launched during the Kuala Lumpur International Book Festival from May 24 to June 2, reported Focus Malaysia.
Sparked mockery from netizens
Unfortunately, the news didn’t exactly get a warm welcome from netizens, who instead turned it into a subject of scorn.
Some slammed Syed Saddiq for being so keen to write another book but still refused to come clean on the controversial audit report for the Johor floods in 2021.

Others mockingly suggested that he should also include photos and details of him getting whipped and imprisoned into the book as well.

For those unaware, Syed Saddiq was sentenced to nine years in jail, two cane strokes, and fined RM10 million last year after he was found guilty on charges of abetting, criminal breach of trust (CBT), misappropriation of assets and money laundering.
This will make him the first elected MP to be whipped, an outcome that Syed Saddiq is currently appealing against.
