Diners and staff at a popular fast food restaurant had a shock of their lives when a white Volvo SUV rammed its way inside in Sitiawan, Perak.
According to Berita Harian, the surprise collision occurred around 9pm last night (May 8) when the car crashed straight into the restaurant’s glass wall, which eventually led to the death of an old woman.

According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, he said the victim, a woman in her 70s, was initially trapped under the vehicle before she was saved by members of the public.

A team of nine personnel from the Seri Manjung Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene to assist Health Ministry medical officers for further action.
“The operation was under control by 9.30pm and was fully completed by 9.49pm,” he said in a statement.
The viral footage also showed a jarring contrast in reactions that unfolded in real time following the crash: some banding together to free the elderly woman from the mangled vehicle, while a man instead chose to throw several punches at the SUV driver.

Unfortunately, the elderly woman didn’t survive the crash as she later succumbed to her injuries and died while receiving treatment at Seri Manjung Hospital (HSM) at around 11pm, reported Kosmo.
Meanwhile, the Civil Defence Force (APM) said in a statement that four adults — three men and one woman — as well as a young girl were injured in the crash.
