And if the story wasn’t already sad enough, new details have emerged regarding what occurred days before the fatal accident, adding a layer of tragedy to it.
SUV accident victim ate at same restaurant 3 days ago
Speaking to China Press, a friend of the victim’s son named Huang (transliteration) revealed that in an unexpected twist of fate, the victim, 73-year-old Yang Feng Jin (transliteration), had eaten at the same fast food restaurant on May 5 to celebrate her birthday.

She had mentioned liking the fried chicken, so her son Lee brought her there again last night. Unfortunately, that visit ended in tragedy.
“At the time of the incident, Lee was at the restaurant with his mother (the victim) along with another couple and their four-year-old daughter,” he said.
Tried saving her life via blood transfusion
Huang said after the accident occurred, he received a call from Lee and immediately rushed to the fast food restaurant to help.
“Yang was pinned underneath the vehicle from the waist down, causing her leg veins to rupture and resulting in massive blood loss. After she was extracted from under the vehicle, she was rushed sent to the hospital for treatment.

“Despite receiving four units of blood transfusion, she ultimately succumbed to her severe injuries,” he said.
As for the couple and their young child who were also at the scene, they sustained minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital earlier this morning.
Yang, who lives with her son, also has a daughter who currently works in Singapore. It was reported that her daughter’s returning to Malaysia and is expected to arrive in the afternoon, where she will head to the hospital mortuary to claim Yang’s body.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old SUV driver has been arrested to facilitate investigations under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
