S’porean Allegedly Stranded In KL After Bus Drove Off With His Belongings & Passport Still Onboard

"Billion Stars Express? More of like Billion Trauma Express."
A Singaporean national has come forward to accuse a Malaysian bus company of failing to ensure all passengers were accounted for during a trip to KL from Singapore.

In an Instagram post, he recounted the series of event that led up to him reportedly being left behind by the bus, an event he described as a “billion trauma express”.

Sudden change in schedule

According to the man named Ernz, he bought a ticket to KL for a “last-minute trip” on June 19 with Billion Stars Express, where it was supposed to depart at 11pm.

However, Ernz later received a call from the bus company informing him that the trip had been changed to 10pm, forcing him rush over to the pick-up point via a taxi.

Despite rushing over, Ernz claimed the bus didn’t turn up at 10pm and was shocked to find out there were other passengers who had been waiting for their bus since 8pm.

To further add to his frustration, he got a notification for a live location tracker, which showed the bus was still in Johor Bahru.

Ernz also noted that he coincidentally crossed paths with a friend who was on the same bus as him, something which he was very thankful for, as he would later explain.

Left behind

Ernz eventually got onto the bus and it stopped for a toilet break at around 4.15am while on the way to KL.

But when Ernz returned, he alleged that he saw the bus “just zoom away in the far distance.”

In a fit of panic, he immediately texted his friend, asking him to inform the bus driver that he was left behind, to which his friend replied: “I told them (but) they don’t care.”

His friend also told him that the stop might not have been a break stop.

As a result, Ernz found himself all alone at the bus stop with none of his belongings and passport as they were all on the bus.

Forced to spend extra money

In the end, Ernz said he had no choice but to spend close to RM87 in e-hailing rides so he could meet his friend at the destination and get his belongings back.

He also said he tried reaching out to Billion Stars Express following the incident but was allegedly ignored.

WeirdKaya has reached out to the company for comment and is awaiting a response.
