What was supposed to be a short stay turned into tragedy when a Singaporean couple was discovered dead in a guesthouse room in Cheras.
Room sealed shut with tape & plastic

The lifeless bodies of a 33-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were found inside a guesthouse at Taman Taynton View, Cheras, on Friday (May 16).
According to a report by Sinar Harian, Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan, said police received a call at 12.53pm about two unconscious individuals in the room
A guesthouse worker had initially arrived at around 11.15am and noticed something was off — the main door was locked from the inside, yet both guests’ shoes remained by the door.
After several failed attempts to get a response, the staff reached out to the manager, who advised them to unlock the door using a spare key.
Chilling discovery inside
Once inside, the worker was greeted by the hum of switched-on appliances — the air conditioner, fan, and television were all still running.
But the most disturbing sign came from one of the bedrooms, where the door and windows had been tightly sealed with plastic canvas and tape.
Upon prying open a window, the worker was hit by a strong odour and found both individuals lying unresponsive on the bed.
There were no signs of external injuries or criminal elements,” said Aidil, adding that the victims were fully clothed but already in a decomposing state.
Their deaths were confirmed at 2.22pm by a medical officer.

Grill, charcoal & suspected drugs found in room
Inside the same room, police also found a barbecue grill containing charcoal residue, two unopened boxes of charcoal, and a stainless steel dish containing what is believed to be ketamine.
No CCTV footage was available from the premises, and the bodies have since been sent to the Forensic Unit of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact cause of death.
