Finding love in today’s world can be tough, especially when dating apps feel unpredictable and traditional matchmaking is rare. But what if there was a reward for introducing the right person?

Recently, a Singaporean woman took an unconventional approach to finding love by offering a RM7,000 (SGD2,000) bounty to anyone who successfully introduces her to a potential life partner.

Bella is looking for a life partner and hopes to find someone who meets her ideal criteria. She is searching for a straight male aged between 25 and 42, based in Singapore.

Her ideal partner should have:

  • Mastery in his craft, demonstrating focus and discipline
  • A strong commitment to wellness and fitness
  • The courage to navigate difficult conversations
  • An open mind towards spirituality and religions as tools for self-development

As a token of appreciation, she is offering RM7,000 to anyone who successfully introduces her to a match that leads to a committed relationship of at least six months.

Inspired by work strategies

According to The Straits Times, Bella Dai who is a former industrial designer and founder of a wellness company, moved to Singapore at the age of 15 and earned a degree in design art from Nanyang Technological University.

Now 29 years old, she came up with the idea of offering a bounty after a conversation with a friend sparked the thought of applying work principles to her personal life.

The hardest part of dating is the search. Many of my friends avoid dating apps because the intent of people there is unpredictable,” said Bella, a Chinese national and Singapore permanent resident.

Her longest relationship lasted four years, and she has been single since 2020.

“If I were a product, how would I market myself? How would I make my status known among my friends?” she said.

Since every campaign starts with awareness, I wanted people to know that I am available and looking.”

A bounty that catches attention

Bella chose the RM7,000 reward as she felt it was large enough to leave an impression but not excessive to the point of encouraging people to go “too crazy” for the cash.

Since launching her campaign, she has received five referrals from friends, all accompanied by the prospective date’s Instagram or LinkedIn profile.

Among them, two seemed promising, and she has already gone on three dates with one of them.
