In the aftermath of the gas explosion in Putra Heights, pet owners whose homes were impacted are now being offered free temporary animal boarding services.

This initiative aims to provide a safe haven for animals while their owners recover from the disaster.

Temporary shelter for pets

Recently, the Malaysian Animal Association announced a special offer to assist those affected by the explosion.

According to Kosmo!, hey are providing free boarding services for pets for a period of seven days, from now until 8 March.

The boarding is available for small animals such as cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, hedgehogs, and pet ferrets, who will be cared for at the Galeri Animal Malaysia shelter.

The association has assured that all animals will be well-looked after during their stay. This includes providing food, drink, and all other essential needs.

With the shelter’s expertise, owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are in safe hands.

Comprehensive services for pet owners

The Galeri Animal Malaysia shelter, which is part of the Malaysian Animal Association, is fully licensed by the Department of Veterinary Services.

They hold both an Animal Holding and Protection Activity Licence as well as an Animal Boarding Licence.

In addition to boarding, the association is also offering free pickup and return services for the animals, with regular updates on pickup schedules provided by the shelter’s management.

Putra Heights explosion causes widespread damage

The tragic explosion that occurred on the morning of 1 April was triggered by a gas leak in a Petronas pipeline. The blast sent flames rising up to 500 metres high, visible from a great distance.

This devastating incident happened during the second day of Hari Raya, displacing hundreds of residents.

The explosion resulted in extensive damage, affecting nearly 200 homes and forcing the evacuation of 305 people.
