Workers sometimes come up with various reasons for not turning up for work: with some being completely understandable, while others are downright ridiculous.
An employer recently took to social media to vent her frustration over how one staff member gave a rather ludicrous excuse for not coming into the office for work.
‘Got no mood to work’
As seen in a Threads post, the OP shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message she got from one of her workers.
In the message, the worker apologised for being unable to turn up for work, claiming that his younger sibling decided to act up.
And if that wasn’t bizarre enough, the worker added that due to the family member acting up, he “had no mood to work.”

Needless to say, the worker’s excuse left the OP feeling shocked and upset, where she expressed frustration over such lame reasons being given for skipping work, adding that she was reaching the end of her patience.
Responses
In the comment section, netizens were enraged by the worker’s excuse to skip work and promptly slammed him for it.
‘Next time, tell him: “Sorry, I’m not going to give you your salary today as I don’t have the mood for it.”

‘Just fire him. It’s not worth paying a worker while worrying whether they will turn up for work or not.’

‘Such excuses are normal for these kids. I had a staff who came only a day of work and gave an excuse for not coming the next day, claiming that their younger sibling had breathing difficulties. If you don’t want to work, just say so!’
