Car found in canal
The vehicle was found around 8.30 am today (July 7th).

Rescue teams from the Jitra Fire and Rescue Department arrived shortly after and began retrieving the bodies from the car, which had sunk in the river.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the search operation began at 9 am, and all six victims were confirmed dead at the scene.
The family, consisting of a couple and their four children aged between six months and nine years, were returning to their home in Jerlun after visiting a relative’s house in Taman Aman.
Relatives lodged report earlier
It was earlier reported that the family went missing after spending the night at the brother’s sister’s house on Friday, July 4th, as reported by New Straits Times.

They were expected to return to Jerlun the next morning, but their disappearance led the sister to lodge a police report.
Mohd Azim Ezzat Ishak, 32, worked as a security guard, while his wife, Nurul Hidayah Khalijah Razman Effendy, 31, was said to run a small business.
Social media post raised alarm
Nur Adliah Shuhada, the younger sister of the deceased, also posted about the missing family on Facebook after failing to reach them.
She mentioned they were familiar with the route and usually left early on Saturday mornings.
The disappearance drew public concern after reports of an unidentified car being spotted in the river, leading to the eventual discovery of the family’s vehicle.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the deceased.
