A Singapore-registered Audi crashed into a row of single-storey terrace houses in the early hours of the morning, damaging five homes and leaving residents shaken.
According to a report by Shin Min Daily News, the incident occurred at around 3am on Nov 24 along Jalan Harimau in Century Garden, Johor Bahru.
When reporters visited the site, it was observed that the road sits higher than the row of terrace houses.
One affected female homeowner said she was jolted awake by a loud bang, which she initially thought was thunder due to heavy rain.

Crashed through two walls
She claimed the Audi driver, believed to be a Singaporean, lost control of the vehicle, which then “flew” past the metal gate of one house before crashing through two walls separating adjacent homes.
The impact reportedly knocked down a pillar and destroyed three walls, one of which was left with a large hole.
Photos circulating online and videos shown by residents revealed extensive damage, including collapsed interior walls, holes smashed through partition walls, damaged car porches, zinc roofing sheets torn apart, and broken roof pillars.

Car overturned
A female resident who declined to be named said the car eventually overturned with all four wheels facing upwards at the entrance of one of the houses.
She described the driver as a young man who did not appear seriously injured, although he was bleeding from his leg and was still able to speak and walk.
She added that the driver’s friends later arrived and sent him to the hospital. The resident also said the driver did not flee the scene.

After the car overturned, he allegedly kicked open a window and climbed out on his own, which may have caused the leg injuries.
He even walked over and asked if I could help him retrieve his phone, but I was too afraid to go near him,” she said.
Other neighbours reportedly helped clean his leg wound and gave him water. The Audi was only towed back onto the road at around 9am, after which Johor police arrived to conduct investigations.
While the damaged walls have since been repaired, some residents said other parts of their homes remain damaged.
They also told reporters that the driver had initially promised to compensate them and arrange repairs, and workers did come about a week later to fix the damaged walls.
