Every Malaysian driver knows this unspoken rule: skip your signal, and someone will immediately label you a “pig.”
It’s not just road rage talk, the phrase has become such a running joke online that it’s now part of Malaysian driving culture itself.
And recently, one Malaysian dad made sure his daughter learned that lesson the hard way.
Dad teaches daughter the hard way

A TikTok video posted by @dniasfea went viral after showing a young woman, Nia, learning to drive under the sharp eye of her father.
Nia could be seen nervously gripping the steering wheel while her dad sat next to her, monitoring her every move.
But it wasn’t just her driving that caught attention, it was the way her dad delivered his “advice,” which was both strict and hilarious.
“Only pigs don’t signal”

Her father, who also works as a teacher, decided to make his point crystal clear:
Signals are mandatory. Only pigs don’t give signals. Understand? Stay in your lane, lanes are important. Everything’s important. Over time, you’ll get used to it.”
For Nia, it was all part of preparing for her upcoming JPJ test. She later admitted in her caption that learning from her dad felt even scarier than being tested by JPJ officers.
And judging by the reactions, netizens couldn’t get enough of his “spicy” coaching style.
Netizens entertained
The comments section was flooded with laughter as many Malaysians related to Nia’s experience.
Some who claimed to be driving instructors said they fully agreed with the father’s tough-love method.
Others shared their own memories of being scolded by their dads during their first driving lessons, proving that this is almost a rite of passage in Malaysian households.
