‘She Loved Spicy Food’ – Dad Of M’sian Teen Who Died In Jitra Toll Crash Brings Her Favourite Prawn Dish To Funeral

In the wake of the tragic car fire incident that claimed the lives of a young couple, the family of 19-year-old Tan Hui Shan continues to mourn her passing.

Despite being busy handling funeral arrangements, Tan’s father did not forget his daughter’s favourite food.

On the day of the memorial, he specially packed tom yum prawns, one of Tan Hui Shan’s most loved dishes, and placed it at her memorial altar.

According to Sin Chew Daily, He had been away from the memorial hall earlier in the morning attending to various matters related to his daughter’s funeral.

He only returned around noon to place the packed dish before leaving again to continue discussions with funeral service providers.

When approached for a brief interview, Tan’s father politely declined, saying he needed more time as arrangements were still ongoing.

“She loved spicy food”

Speaking to reporters instead, Tan Hui Shan’s uncle shared that tom yum prawns were among her favourite foods.

He added that whenever Tan Hui Shan visited her grandmother’s home in Kuala Nerang, her grandmother would cook all her favourite dishes to make her happy.

She loved spicy food, including mala-style seafood. My mother would always prepare plenty of the dishes she enjoyed,” he said.

The gesture of placing her favourite meal at the memorial hall touched many, serving as a final act of love from a grieving family remembering Tan Hui Shan’s tastes and joyful moments.
