‘She Left Me’ – M’sian Man Regrets Losing Wife Who Paid Off RM100K Gambling Debt & Walked Away When He Relapsed

Trust broken a second time.
Not all heartbreaks come from betrayal, some come from deep regret.

An anonymous confession posted on XUAN Play’s Facebook page has drawn attention for its raw, emotional account of a man reflecting on how he lost his marriage and how he only realised too late what truly mattered.

It started with gambling

According to the man, things began to fall apart when he developed a serious gambling problem.

He emptied his own savings, maxed out his credit cards, took out loans, and even secretly used his wife’s savings and stock investments.

He kept it hidden for six months before finally coming clean. To his surprise, his wife chose to forgive him even helping him settle over RM100,000 in credit card debt.

She didn’t say anything even though I was barely earning enough. She still quietly supported the household,” he wrote.

But despite her forgiveness, the relationship never fully recovered.

The man admitted that from then on, their dynamic changed. Small mistakes would be blown out of proportion, and even when he tried to do better, it felt like he could never measure up.

Still, the biggest blow came when he relapsed. He gambled again. And again, he used his wife’s savings — but this time, he told her immediately.

She didn’t hesitate. She asked for a divorce.

She said she could never trust someone who betrayed her again and again. She said she no longer had a reason to keep going.”

Dealing with the consequences

What followed was a downward spiral. The man said he begged to stay, not to repair the marriage, but to help take care of their three-year-old child. But his wife stood firm and asked him to leave the house.

He admitted to struggling mentally in the aftermath and even briefly contemplated taking his own life to repay her through insurance money.

But in the end, he chose to live on alone and work on repaying his debts.

Now living by himself, he says he spends his nights unable to sleep, flipping through old family photos and missing the life he lost.

I know I no longer have the right to ask for anything. But I still worry about her, she has to raise our child alone now, and I know that’s not fair.”

While he continues to work hard and see his child when he can, he ends his confession with uncertainty. He’s not sure if he should hold out hope for forgiveness or let go completely.
