Before we place an order on a food delivery app, we’re required to key in our address and contact details so that riders can deliver the item to us seamlessly and quickly.
A Singaporean woman bore the brunt of backlash from netizens after she took to social media to complain about a delivery rider who had placed her order at the carpark instead of her doorstep.
SG woman slams rider for placing food order at carpark
In a Facebook post that was reshared to the group Complaint Singapore yesterday (Jan 15), it showed a photo of the woman’s food order from a popular fast food chain.
From the photo, the rider is seen trying to contact the woman, where he requested for her unit number twice.

After failing the get a hold of the woman, the rider was left with little choice but to leave the order at the basement car park before leaving.
However, the rider’s actions caused the woman to be deeply unhappy, prompting her to write the following caption:
I forgot to put unit number. (The rider) send me message but I didn’t see cause I was showering. But he never call me. This Grab driver left my McDonald’s at basement carpark door. Gently reminded me to go pick it up from there.

“What will you do if this happened to you? Luckily, my courier team will never leave your parcel at your block basement or ground floor if you forgot to put unit number.”
‘Don’t be so self-entitled!’
Instead of garnering sympathy from the public like she’d hoped, the woman instead found herself on the receiving end of harsh criticism from netizens.
‘I would put it at bin centre. Order never put address…think delivery guy’s a fortune teller is it?’

‘So you didn’t put unit number, he message you and you happen to be in the shower…and it becomes his fault? Where else would he put LOL. Every minute he wait for you is money lost.’

‘You really jialat…forget, made a mistake, then accept it. If I were him (the rider), I will just eat your food and say bye bye.’
