Losing your luggage at the airport is no doubt a nerve-wrecking and stressful experience as it involves lots of time and energy.
A Singaporean woman thought she had lost all hope in retrieving her luggage after losing it at KLIA but was able to breathe a sigh of relief after a group of police officers came to her aid.
SG woman praises M’sian police officers who spent 5 hours looking for her luggage
Speaking to Sin Chew Daily, the woman named Wang Huiling (transliteration), said she flew to Kuala Lumpur on Dec 20 after a work trip in Japan, where she intended to return to Singapore by car.

However, she left her carry-on luggage behind at the security checkpoint by accident as she was being hurried by the driver and didn’t realise it until she had reached Singapore.
“I drove back to KLIA the next day as I was concerned about a USB drive containing an important research. I first inquired about my luggage at the Lost and Found counter, but the staff had no record of it.
“I then sought help from the airline’s ground staff, who advised me to file a report with the airport police. At that moment, I thought it was a hopeless situation as I assumed they would just go through the motions,” she said.

To Wang’s pleasant surprise, the police officers reviewed surveillance footage in detail and physically searched every corner of KLIA. After five hours, they finally found her luggage.
Their swift response and thorough search not only eased my worries but also demonstrated the high-quality service upheld by KLIA staff.
“This experience strengthened my trust in KLIA’s security measures and the integrity of its staff. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the officers (Norazrin, Siri Tharan, Nanjihan, and Amirudi) for their hard work and commitment.”
