On the day of the robbery, which took place on Nov 18, 2024, at Block 199A, Punggol Field in Singapore, the teen met up with a 33-year-old man who had S$81,060 (approx. RM269,00) in cash on him to exchange for cryptocurrency.

The teen then grabbed the cash and ran, with the victim giving chase to him. In an attempt to deter the victim from running after him, the teen brandished a kitchen knife but it slipped from his hand.

Seeing him with no weapon in hand, the victim, with the assistance of two men and a woman, easily overpowered the teen and held him in place until police arrived.

The teen was later arrested and police managed to recover the money.

Teen and conspirator charged in court

Following an investigation, police were led to a man named Firdaus Muhammad Abdul Aziz, who was eventually charged with abetting the teen in the robbery. Another man whom police believe was involved in the case was nabbed too.
