As teachers, there are times where students can be a handful and be a source of great stress, causing teachers to snap internally.
A preschool teacher who was upset at a student who didn’t sit properly in class took her anger out on her by kicking the latter’s shin, resulting in a huge bruise and her eventually losing her job.

According to The Straits Times (ST), the 5-year-old girl’s parents said they lodged a police report over the incident on April 2 and were advised to seek medical treatment at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Based on the medical report sighted by ST, it showed that the girl sustained a haematoma, or in other words, a ‘bad bruise’ on her right shin.
On May 14, the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) sent an email to the girl’s father, where it revealed that after going through CCTV footage and interviewing the preschool staff, it confirmed that the kicking incident did take place.
We have ascertained that the staff had adopted inappropriate classroom management methods when she kicked your child to make her sit properly before (a) nap,” it wrote.
The girl has since moved to another school after the abuse occurred.
Teacher suspended
An ECDA spokesperson later told ST that after the investigations were carried out, the teacher was suspended from her position.
The teacher subsequently resigned and has since not stepped into the pre-school sector, added the spokesperson.
As for the girl, her father said he and his wife are “extremely relieved” that the teacher’s no longer teaching at the preschool. He also added that his daughter had taken up martial arts to “stop the bully”.
