A family living at a flat located along Bedok South Road in Singapore noticed that a red splotch had developed on their unit’s ceiling, where drops of blood were seen spilling to the ground.
However, none of them expected that it was due to their neighbour, who lived above them, dying in her sleep and rotting away for the next two days.

SG resident sees blood seep through ceiling
Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, a resident named Zheng (transliteration) said her son noticed blood dripping from the ceiling of their master bedroom and onto the floor on Sunday (Mar 25) at 1pm.
This then prompted him to place towels on the floor to soak up the bloody puddle to prevent it from seeping into the crevices between their tiles.

Zheng also said her family detected a foul odour coming from upstairs, which led them to head over to their 77-year-old neighbour’s home as they felt something was amiss.
When they went upstairs, they saw the woman’s sister outside the door, whom another neighbour said had been knocking on the door since 10am.
Upon being told about blood appearing on the ceiling, the woman’s sister immediately called the police.
At 6pm, several police officers were seen carrying out the woman’s body out from the unit.

Had died 2 days ago
Another neighbour who lived on the same floor as the woman told Shin Min that a lunch box which was hanging outside was untouched for two days since May 23.
Zheng’s husband added that the woman had lived alone for over 25 years and last spoke to her sister on the phone on May 23.
However, when the woman couldn’t be reached that night, her sister became worried and went to her home to check on her.
The woman’s niece later disclosed to the Chinese daily that police said her aunt had died in her sleep, and that the blood which leaked through the ceiling had seeped out from her corpse as it decomposed.
Police also found no elements of foul play but are currently investigating the incident.
