In yet another infuriating instance, the driver of a Singaporean-registered car has been caught once again illegally pumping RON95 into his vehicle, which is only allowed for Malaysian-registered vehicles.
Instead of owning up to his mistake, the driver tried to fool the pump station workers into thinking he was using a local number plate but it proved to be futile.
Yelled ‘Sabah’ several times
According to a Facebook post by Amirul Syafiq today, he wrote that the incident took place at a petrol station yesterday (Jan 3) in Changloon, Kedah, right before the Thai border.
While there, he saw a Mazda 3 bearing a Singaporean-registered number plate and its driver using RON95 petrol to refuel the car.

When the staff realised what was going on, they proceeded to stop the driver. He then tried to throw them off the trail by screaming “Sabah! Sabah!” several times as a way to convince them that his car’s number plate was registered in Malaysia.
Fortunately, none of them fell for the bait and managed to stop him from using RON95 fuel. The driver was eventually forced to use RON97 fuel before making his way towards Thailand.
Amirul also noted that the driver’s car had a Singapore Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) in-vehicle unit (IU) placed at the front of the car.

He also called upon the police and Road Transport Department (JPJ) to take necessary action against the car.
Just yesterday, a similar incident occurred, with a much bolder tactic being deployed:
