Ho Wen Hui, the Singaporean man who went missing for 15 hours earlier this week, has been found safe — but the circumstances surrounding his brief disappearance have sparked intense public speculation.
According to Sin Chew Daily, his father-in-law, Mr. Ng, has since issued a statement urging the public to respect the family’s privacy and refrain from making assumptions.
The police are currently investigating the case, and we are not in a position to comment further. But due to the growing speculation, we are making this clarification after discussing with the authorities,” he told local media.
Went missing after morning jog
The 37-year-old financial manager had just tied the knot with his girlfriend of three years on Saturday, July 5. That same morning, he reportedly left his in-laws’ home in Sungai Long, Section 2 for a jog around 5am.
At 5.02am, he sent his wife a short video message saying he would be back in 10 minutes. However, by 5.17am, all communication was lost.

Surveillance footage showed Ho walking alone outside the housing area, while later video evidence confirmed he was taking selfies and photos of the park surroundings — suggesting no signs of distress or coercion at the time.
He was eventually located around 8pm on the same day.
Police: No criminal element involved
According to Kajang police, Ho had taken an e-hailing ride to Kuala Lumpur during the time he was missing. Authorities confirmed there were no criminal elements involved in the case.
Mr. Ng also reassured the public that Ho is now safe and sound, and thanked those who showed concern.
As the investigation continues, the family has requested space and privacy, especially in light of the recent wedding.
