Mobile phones are no doubt the most important piece of property anyone could have, and just the thought of losing it would cause one to break out in cold sweat.
A man in Singapore was so intent on retrieving his iPhone that he believed was stuck on a tree that he resorted to a bizarre method to do so—not knowing that the device was on the ground the whole time.
Tossed bin lid at tree
In a now-deleted clip that was shared on Facebook, it showed the shirtless man using a public garbage bin lid to knock his iPhone off from a tree.

However, it proved to be unsuccessful as the bin lid struck the foliage and fell onto the grass with a loud thud.
Two broken branches were also seen lying on the ground not far away, suggesting that it wasn’t the man’s first attempt.
Threw iPhone into tree out of anger
The OP, who’s only known as Mustafa, told MS News that he heard loud noises and went to check on it, where he saw the man scaling the tree to search for his iPhone.

Mustafa added that the man allegedly threw his iPhone into the tree in a fit of anger following an argument with his girlfriend.
He called the man’s actions “inappropriate” as the bin lid could have injured him or a passerby.
Plot twist
After two hours, several people appeared at the scene and helped the man in finding his iPhone.
The kicker? The device was later found lying in the nearby grass the entire time.
So before you go destroying trees, be sure to check your surroundings first!
