SG Man Threatens To Hit Wife For Waking And Scolding Him Over Not Flushing The Toilet

He was jailed for four weeks.
Every now and then, married couples would get into arguments over both minor and major issues. Unfortunately, sometimes it can escalate to moments of violence.

An elderly man who got angry over being lectured over an unflushed toilet nearly physically assaulted his own wife, leading him to spend weeks in jail.

SG man awoken & lectured for not flushing the toilet

According to 8world News, the man in question was 73-year-old Toh Lay Teow, who forgot to flush the toilet before taking a nap in the March 1 incident.

This unsurprisingly annoyed his wife, who aroused him from his sleep and proceeded to scold him for not flushing the toilet.

Toh then flew into a rage, grabbed his walking stick and threatened to hit her with it, though it ultimately landed lightly on her shoulder.

After being reminded of a protection order she had filed against him, Toh’s wife continued to lecture him over the toilet, causing him to storm towards the living room and pick up a plastic stool to throw at her.

However, he didn’t follow through with it and put it back down.

Had another outburst at hospital

Three months later, Toh went to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital to collect his medication when the staff asked if he was willing to be admitted to a nursing home at his wife’s request.

Enraged by the suggestion, Toh yelled at his wife when he returned home and threw a stool at her. He also threw a metal cup but she dodged both objects successfully.

Unable to tolerate his outbursts, Toh’s wife called the police on him three days later and he was taken into custody.

Sentenced to 4 weeks in prison

Yesterday (Jul 17), Toh was slapped with eight charges, including reckless behavior endangering others and intimidation.

Out of the charges, the prosecution proceeded with three of them, with the remaining charges to be considered by the judge during sentencing.

The court also revealed that Toh had two prior criminal intimidation convictions.

In the end, Toh was sentenced to four weeks and 13 days in prison for threatening to assault his wife over the unflushed toilet.
