A Singaporean man who went to a hair salon in Johor Bahru (JB) just to have a hairdo got more than just that after the salon was splashed with red paint by several unknown individuals.
Photos shared by him on his Facebook account showed his hair, neck, arms, legs, and clothes covered in red paint streaks following the incident.

SG man covered in red paint in surprise ‘paint bombing’
Speaking to both Mothership and MS News, Douglas Ang said he had gone to the newly-opened REDS Hair Salon in Paradigm Mall at around 12pm last Saturday (Oct 11).
While having a haircut, he said two masked men entered the premise and splashed red paint, hitting him and five other customers who were present at the time.
As a result of the ‘paint bombing’, Ang’s clothes and body were covered in paint. The salon’s floors, chairs, mirrors, and counters weren’t spared either.

Ang said the salon’s employees tried in vain to stop the masked men by yelling at them, adding that “they were scared to approach them physically”.
Ang said after the attack, the salon employees immediately closed the shop and bought paint thinner and new clothes for those who were covered in paint.
Staff drove out to lodge police report
In a brief conversation with WeirdKaya, Ang said this was his first time to the salon in Paradigm, adding that he usually went to the outlet at KSL City Mall as it was nearer to his weekend house in JB.
He also expressed bewilderment over the employees having to drive out to make a police report as no officers turned up two hours after the incident.
I was pretty surprised that they still have to go out to make a police report because in Singapore, we just need to call 999 and the police will come in 30 minutes.”

When asked whether he would return to the salon again, Ang said he will stick to the KSL Mall outlet, adding that it wasn’t convenient for him to travel to Paradigm.
He also expressed gratitude that red paint, not acid, was splashed at the salon.
Salon’s response
As for the salon, it told Mothership that business has returned to normal and that a police report was lodged.
It also posted a video on its Instagram account, where it dismissed claims that the attack was due to owed money and said it may be the act of a competitor.
