While children are usually able to get along with other kids during playtime, sometimes things can get a bit rowdy when minor altercations arise.
A man in Singapore took matters into his own hands and allegedly assaulted a young boy after the latter landed a kick on his daughter while they were playing with each other at an indoor mall playground.

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, the father of the 6-year-old boy, Aloy Chua, said he had taken his family to the Westgate Mall in Jurong East on Dec 22 at around 2.40pm.
His wife then took the boy to the playground with a friend. While she was chatting with her friend, she didn’t notice her son getting into an altercation with a girl.
According to my wife, our son was building a castle and the girl knocked it over, causing my son to kick her. When the girl’s father, who was nearby, found out, he walked over to my son and slapped him.
“When the girl’s father approached my wife to confront her, he used profanities repeatedly. At that point, his wife was unaware that our son had been slapped and even apologized to him,” he recounted.
Chua said the truth was later revealed when a witness told his wife that their son had been assaulted, prompting her to accost the girl’s father and contact the police.
“My son was so shaken that he cried non-stop. His face was visibly swollen, and we had to take him to the hospital. Fortunately, he wasn’t seriously injured and was discharged the same day.”
He later told Stomp that his son is still traumitised by the assault to this day.
My son, once full of joy, was now withdrawn and visibly shaken. While the physical injuries were treated, the emotional scars linger.
“He now wakes in the middle of the night, crying in fear, reliving the trauma of that moment,” he said.
Arrested by police
When contacted by both Shin Min Daily News and Stomp, police confirmed the incident and said the boy was sent to the hospital in a conscious state.
They also added that a 38-year-old man was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt with enhanced penalties for offences against person below 14 years of age.
