A man from Singapore suffered a horrifying death after he was crushed by an oncoming lorry while cycling in Johor.
Police investigations later revealed that he had hit a pothole and fell on the road before meeting his unfortunate end.

In a statement by Kulai district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Seng Lee, he said police were alerted of the incident which involved the 42-year-old cyclist and a hanvan-type trailer, at around 9.45am yesterday (June 14).

“Investigations revealed that the victim, who was riding with three others, had struck a pothole and fallen onto the road.
“At the time of the incident, the 41-year-old local trailer driver, who was on his way to Singapore to deliver gravels, was unable to avoid the victim and ran over him,” he said as quoted by NST.
Following the accident, the victim got trapped under the trailer and sustained severe head injuries which led to his passing. As for the trailer driver, he was unhurt.

Tan added the victim’s body was sent to Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital for a post-mortem examination and that police are probing the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving.
He also called upon those with information regarding the incident to contact investigating officer Inspector Mohd Ruslan Mohamed at 013-306 3710 or visit the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department at the Kulai district police headquarters.
