A traffic light malfunction in Bangi recently caused significant congestion, leaving motorists stuck in long queues.
Amid the chaos, an unexpected hero emerged—a young man wearing a traditional sarong stepped forward to direct traffic, earning widespread praise for his selfless actions.
Sarong hero saved the day
A TikTok user, “Casa Zeya” shared a video of the incident, explaining how she was caught in the jam when the traffic lights stopped working.
Fortunately, a “sarong hero” appeared just in time, positioning himself in the middle of the road and using hand signals to help ease the gridlock.
The video shows the man, dressed casually in a t-shirt, sarong, and slippers, confidently managing the traffic.
Stranded motorists and bystanders quickly cooperated with his directions, allowing vehicles to move smoothly again.
Salute to the hero
To express her gratitude, the TikTok user posted the footage with a heartfelt message:
“A big salute to this hero! Thanks to him, we were able to escape this traffic nightmare.”
She also voiced concerns about his safety, noting that he was not wearing any reflective gear or a helmet.
