In a statement by Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, he said police were alerted of the incident after a member of the public made an emergency call upon finding the body.
He added the man’s body was already decomposing when it was first found in a wooded area across a hotel located on Jalan Sultan Ismail.
“The man was dressed in a grey T-shirt, light blue shorts with a belt, and blue slippers. His identity and ethnicity have yet to be confirmed and no identification documents were found on him,” he said as quoted by NST.

The body has been sent to the Forensics Department at Hospital Kuala Lumpur for a post-mortem that is scheduled to be carried out today.
Authorities have since classified the case as sudden death for the time being.
