Rotting Body Found Floating In Klang River, Police Probe Launched

The deceased's identity remains unknown.
A police investigation has been launched after the decomposed body of an unidentified man was found floating in the Klang River near USJ 1 yesterday (Oct 9).

NST reported that the corpse was discovered by a member of the public who was  surveying the area for a construction project and alerted police via the MERS 999 emergency line after finding the body trapped among debris.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the victim was around 160cm tall and fully clothed, where he wore black collared T-shirt with the word ‘Security’ printed on it and black long pants.

The body was eventually brought to the riverbank along with the assistance of firefighters from the Subang Jaya SS17 Fire and Rescue Station.

Azlan said no identification documents were found on the victim and authorities are working to establish his identity.

He added a forensics team from the Selangor police headquarters found the body to be in an advanced state of decomposition following an examination.

It was later sent to the Forensic Department of Sultan Idris Shah Hospital, Serdang, for a post-mortem.

Police have classified the case as sudden death (SDR) pending the autopsy report and urged those with further information to call the Subang Jaya district control centre at 03-7862 7100 or the USJ 8 police station at 019-655 8707.
