Now that the fasting month has officially begun, Ramadan bazaar stalls have also cropped up all across the country to serve mouthwatering food to customers looking to break fast.
Unfortunately, bazaar stalls have long earned themselves the notorious reputation of overcharging customers, like how this woman experienced for herself.
RM6 for 2 skewers of fried food
In a Threads post, the woman shared a photo of two skewers of fried foods she bought at Ramadan bazaar in Terengganu, which consisted of nuggets and sausages.

According to the post’s caption, the OP alleged that the vendor didn’t display any price tags and told her that it would cost her RM6 when it was time to pay.
Needless to say, she was flabbergasted by the price and urged the authorities to step in.
“To KPDN Terengganu, please monitor the prices at Kuala Ibai bazaar. There are no price tags, and only when it’s time to pay do they tell you the price,” she added.
Mixed reactions
Netizens were divided in their opinions over the post, with some sympathising with the OP.
‘I bought the same items at the same location and was charged RM10 for three skewers.’

‘I’ve experienced this before and there were no price tags. I picked five skewers of nuggets and sausages, and it came to a total of RM18.’

On the other hand, some called for the public to be more understanding of vendors, who have to contend with soaring ingredient and labour costs.
