The Sarawak government has uncovered an estimated RM 1.25 trillion worth of minerals, including gold, rare earth, bauxite, and other precious metals.
“A survey by our state geological experts on 32% of our land has identified minerals valued at approximately RM 1.25 trillion,” Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan stated.
“These include gold, rare earth, bauxite, and other precious metals, indicating vast potential for further discoveries.” He added
Potential for further discoveries
According to The Vibes, the initial survey has covered Sarawak’s 12.4 million hectares of land and it has been announced that the findings highlight the potential for further discoveries.

“We are confident of finding more new mineral deposits as we extend the survey to another 30% of the state,” he said.
The significant gold deposits were initially found in the Bau district and have now been discovered in the Sri Aman district.
