Two young boys resembling the characters Upin & Ipin from the popular Malaysian animation series have captured the attention of netizens.
According to a video posted on Facebook by “Sambal Tumis,” the boys, who appear to be twins, were seen holding hands and strolling through a shopping mall.
Upin & Ipin came to real life
The video shows them confidently riding escalators, dressed in outfits almost identical to the animated duo.
One boy, wearing a yellow shirt with a “U” on the chest, resembled Upin, while the other, in a blue shirt with an “i,” looked like Ipin.
Both had shaved heads, with the Upin look-alike even sporting the character’s signature tiny tuft of hair.
Netizens’ reaction
The video, believed to be filmed at a large supermarket in Johor Bahru, quickly went viral. Fans expressed their excitement, with some joking that the characters had stepped out of the TV and into real life.
“The two of them just came out from the TV.”
“Wow, it is hard to believe that they really exist!”
“Where’s that tiny bit of hair he has?”
