A foreign passenger shocked netizens when he turned the Light Rail Transit (LRT) train’s control console into his personal “business class.”
Photos uploaded by RapidKL on Facebook show the man casually reclining on the console with his luggage placed on it, enjoying the view.
The incident sparked widespread criticism online, with many slamming his lack of decorum and reporting the act.
Rapid KL responded swiftly
The woman who reported the incident commented on RapidKL’s post, explaining that she witnessed the scene but refrained from confronting the man directly out of safety concerns.
Instead, she promptly alerted RapidKL, and staff arrived within five minutes to resolve the issue.

RapidKL’s response was incredibly efficient. They resolved the matter quickly and ensured the safety of other passengers,” she wrote.

Sitting at the control panel is prohibited
RapidKL addressed the matter in a Facebook post, stating that such inappropriate behavior endangers both the individual and other passengers.
The company emphasized that this type of conduct is unacceptable and issued a reminder to commuters to follow safety guidelines.
The man was eventually persuaded to step down from the console, and the company used the incident as a teachable moment to remind passengers to practice safe and respectful behavior on public transportation.

Netizens’ reaction
The Facebook post quickly went viral, drawing heavy criticism from netizens.
“It would be good if the train operator could clearly mark the area as a prohibited spot for sitting, instead of using just a plain white color and an indistinguishable sticker notice, which is somewhat out of place. This would help avoid any confusion for passengers. Once that is done, any passenger attempting to be funny by sitting on top could then be subjected to some kind of penalty.”

“Bro thought it’s business class.”

“I often see parents with small children, like those aged 3–4 years old, placing their kids there.”
