Long story short. After online dating for almost two years, Kyann realised her “boyfriend” and his mother are actually her new best friend, Rachel. She did not just pretend to be others but also made up stories about her best friends, Jenna and Elaine. This is to make them sound bad and avoid interactions between her “besties”.
Recently, the name “Rachel” has frequently been appearing on Facebook and social media. A story about her in Chinese posted by a netizen named Charlotte garnered 3.6k reactions, 8.4k comments and 8.4k shares on Facebook. The numbers are still growing. Even the GSC’s admins were attracted by this story and made a meme about it.
While it is based on a true story, it is more dramatic than most TV series. Well, it is a complicated story, so to help you understand better, we excluded some less significant parts. The whole and detailed story can be found on the victim’s IG story.
First thing first, let us introduce the characters involved:
Characters in the story
Ms R – Rachel
A girl who claimed that she comes from an unfortunate family. Her father abuses her mother and her mother suffers from mental issues. Luckily, she has godparents, with Dato’ and Datin titles, by her side because the fortune teller said she can bring wealth to the family. Her godparents are rich, so she shows off big houses, sports cars, and branded items on her social media. R can’t give birth because of some problem with her uterus. Two of ex-boyfriends died, and she is suffering from depression. Therefore, she feels like dying and can’t sleep well every night.
Mr D – Daniel
R’s godbrother, which is the son of R’s godparents. Despite being born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he has his own business based in Singapore at a young age. Like most of the rich kids, he was kidnapped when he was younger. He is suffering from Leukemia and has been getting in and out of hospital very often. He shares the same birthday with R and K. (coming up soon). The image that he has been portraying on his social media is very positive, diligent and proactive.
Mrs C – Cindy
R’s godmother, D’s mother. The wealthy Datin who is willing to take care of R since she was a kid. A kind-hearted lady who gives care and support to R. She often chats with K, her son’s girlfriend, mostly to update her son’s situation.
Ms K – Kyann
A girl who met R on an event someday in 2018. R and K became close friends after chatting on WeChat and Instagram for some time and realised that they share the same birth date. Sooner and later, K dated D virtually through the introduction of R.
Ms J – Jenna
One of Rachel’s best friends. Jenna is said to be kinda rich and has a chaotic and messy private life. She always hangs out in KTVs, eats contraceptive pills, steals Rachel’s branded clothes, etc. R tolerated her because her mother is R’s mother’s best friend. Yes, just SAID TO be. Don’t ask why first, just keep reading.
Ms E – Elaine
Another best friend of Rachel. Elaine is claimed to mess up with Rachel’s EX, stayed overnight at his place and wore Rachel’s clothes back home. Her boyfriend’s father slapped her when she went to her boyfriend’s place to complain to him in tears. E did abortion twice and did many things that betrayed her friendships and relationships. R has always been fetching her when she gets drunk. APPARENTLY, she mistreats R, but R shares everything with her. Yes, just apparently.
Plot
The story started when R and K met on an event in 2018. They chatted on WeChat and Instagram frequently and became close friends very soon. R then introduced her godbrother, D, to K through social media. They started dating online after chatting for some time.
As D is based in Singapore, the couple never met each other in person. However, D is such a loving and caring person. He will talk with K in the phone until midnight, sings to K, and asks R to take good care of K. There was once R brought K ginger tea and claimed that D cooked it. On the other hand, R treats K very well too. When K comes to KL from Penang, she will prepare a new towel for her, be her driver, get her gastric medicine, hold the umbrella for her, etc.
Eventually, K was told D was diagnosed with Leukemia. To help K keep up with his situation, D introduced his mother, C, to K on WeChat. They started chatting, and C seems to be very caring and friendly to K.
After that, D’s situation got worse, he was given emergency treatment and transferred the hospital for a few times. R told K she cries and listens to heartbeat to sleep every night because she wants to experience her godbrother’s life in the hospital.
Sometimes, C will share real-time location with K to let her know where D is. However, K never gets to see D. Once, K and her family went to the hospital that C mentioned, but it was another wasted journey.
Along with their relationship, D promised to meet up with K for a few times. However, every time upon seeing each other, something must have come up. Worse still, K believed D has his own difficulties after R, C, and D’s persuasion.
The situation persisted for roughly more than a year, on R and K’s birthday, D said he will meet K again. K is pleased that she can finally see her “boyfriend” so she prepared a lovely present for him, but he failed to keep the appointment in the end AGAIN. K persuaded herself with the reason D is sick, he did not break the meeting intentionally. Then, she passed R the present and cried alone back home.
Talented D wrote a song for their tragic love story, and K is deeply touched. Surprisingly, C passed away before her ill son during April of 2020. R told K about how sad she is for not attending the funeral and that C left 20% of her property to R.
By some random reason, K realised D and C were all imaginary people made up by R. She was manipulating three different characters and various social media accounts.

Ms R – Rachel
Forget about her pitiful family background and godparents. Oh, and also all the branded stuff, they do not belong to her. She is R, D and C to K at the same time for the past two years.
Mr D – Daniel
His portraits and name belong to a Singaporean influencer. His voice talking to K all the while is R with a voice changer APP. The song he wrote was written by Firdhaus. The new influencer who has gone viral on Tiktok recently, with the song “Alaskan Bay”. Most of the daily photos, photos in the hospital and other images are mainly from the Internet. However, his WeChat account started to be active since 2015. Therefore, K might not be the only victim.
Mrs C – Cindy
Never existed.
Ms K – Kyann
The pitiful girl who dated and cried for a fake person for almost two years. Worse still, R told her other friends K had an affair with others while dating D.
Ms J – Jenna
The real owner of the beautiful and colossal bungalow, sports cars and branded items and of course the real rich kid. However, her private life is just ordinary, not messed up at all.
Ms E – Elaine
Of course, she didn’t sleep with R’s ex-boyfriend and neither ever used her stuff. Instead, she has been the one driving R everywhere whenever she is in KL. Remember the hospital images and location C sent to K? R told E that her friend “Dylan” got into an accident and was admitted to the hospital. E sent R to the hospital, but she didn’t see Dylan (who has not existed) because R claimed that he died after taking enough pictures of the hospital and sending location to K.
Aftermath
The existing people K, J and E posted on IG story about what R did. R posted IG stories and IG posts to apologise to them. Her posts received thousands of comments from the netizens.
The story is viral on social media now, as we can see, and netizens have lots of comments about it. Some netizens think R is psycho and suffers from Schizophrenia,
While some doubted details like “why didn’t the couple used video calls”, “How did D cook the ginger tea and passed to R if he’s in Sg, ” or so.
Some read through the girls’ IG story to know every detail about the whole story and think the story is more splendid than most movies and TV series. There are also netizens who think Rachel can be a very good screenwriter or director.
