It’s not every day you come across wildlife in the middle of your daily commute—let alone on your car.
From lizards clinging to windows to birds hitching rides, such encounters are rare but not unheard of.
However, when the unexpected passenger is a snake, it’s bound to leave people shocked, and sometimes, even terrified.
Python casually slithers on top of Perodua Axia
This was precisely the case recently when a silver Perodua Axia became the focus of attention on social media.

A python was spotted coiled on its roof, calmly hitching a ride while the car cruised along a busy road.
The surreal scene was captured in a viral video shared on X, sparking reactions ranging from disbelief to humour.
The video begins innocuously, showing the silver car driving down a regular street.
Moments later, the camera zooms in, revealing a python draped across the roof.
At first, the snake appears to be descending toward the road, but it quickly changes its mind, twisting back onto the roof as if claiming it as its domain.

Despite the unusual spectacle, the car’s driver seemed oblivious.
Other motorists honked persistently, likely trying to alert them about the reptile.
But the driver continued on, showing no visible reaction, which left many online viewers baffled.
‘I’d want to stop, but how would I even open the door?’
The incident quickly became a hot topic on social media. Many commenters shared their amusement, fear, and hypothetical reactions to such a situation:
‘That’s so chill, man. If I even saw a lizard stuck to my car window, my legs would go weak. I wouldn’t dare step out of the car. If it was a snake, I’d speed straight to the fire department.‘

‘The snake’s probably thinking, ‘Stop the car, I want to get off.‘

‘If I were the driver, I’d completely lose my composure, maybe even crash the car. I wouldn’t be able to stay as calm as this driver. I’d want to stop, but how would I even open the door?’
