A gas pipeline explosion near Putra Heights triggered a fire earlier this morning, according to Buletin TV3 and Astro Awani.

The incident happened around 8am and could be seen from as far as Subang Jaya.

“The exact cause is still under investigation, but a gas leak at the pump is believed to be the main factor,” Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, the Assistant Director of Operations at the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department told Buletin TV3.

MP Wong Chen urged residents to stay alert and said his team is monitoring the situation closely.

The Fire and Rescue Department is still working to control the blaze and more updates are expected.
