A Malaysian woman was left shocked and furious after encountering a primary school boy openly vaping outside a lift, and even blowing smoke directly at her face.
The boy fled in panic only after she took out her phone to record his actions.
The incident was shared by the woman on Threads under the username @_zaty93, who said the encounter took place at her condominium in Kuala Lumpur on the morning of October 25.
“He blew smoke at me without fear”
According to her post, she had just stepped out of the lift when she saw a young boy, dressed in a sports uniform and believed to be a primary school student, holding an electronic cigarette.
He was vaping and even blew smoke rings at me,” she wrote, adding that she questioned him about his school year and whether his parents knew he was vaping.

Shocked by the boy’s behaviour, she said she could not believe that someone “so young and still a kid” had the audacity to vape openly and blow smoke toward others.
Angered by the disrespect, the woman took out her phone and began recording the boy, warning that she would send the footage to the condominium residents’ WhatsApp group to alert his father.
The moment I started recording, he shouted ‘Don’t!’, threw his vape against the wall and ran away,” she wrote. The device reportedly shattered on impact.
Netizens applaud her actions
The post quickly gained attention, with many netizens praising the woman for “scaring him straight.” They said the public also has a role to play in disciplining and guiding children, especially when behaviour crosses the line.
“Plot twist: the father is also vaping at home while watching TV. Might as well post the father’s picture in the group too, so the grandma will come looking for him.”

“Wah, it’d be great to have an aunty like this. If someone like her lived in my neighbourhood, it would be so nice. It’d be easier to watch over my kids when they’re out of my sight. Easy to threaten the kids by saying there are aunties everywhere in this taman, so don’t misbehave.”
