A food stall in Meru, Klang, is going viral for a heartwarming reason by providing a wide range of delectable food for hungry customers at an affordable price.
Named ‘Port Makanan RM3’, the stall has been a form of much-needed help for those who go hungry due to financial circumstances.
Starting small
Speaking to Harian Metro, the stall’s operator, Hazman Tarmizi, said ‘Port Makanan RM3’ started a year ago and will celebrate its first anniversary this month.
He said at the beginning, vendors would set up only two or three tables to sell traditional cakes and snacks. As time passed, they expanded the stall to help single mothers and housewives generate income by preparing food.

“Now, the food sold is not limited to traditional cakes and snacks, but also includes rice, side dishes, soup-based dishes, porridge and desserts. Most of the food is supplied by local residents, and the menu changes every day.
“Everything’s set at RM3 to cater to nearby residents, particularly those from low-income groups and without stable employment,” he said.
Hamzan added that while the stall’s open from 11am to 6pm, everything usually sells out by 2pm.
Aside from walk-in sales, ‘Port Makanan RM3’ also receives bulk orders from nearby factories as well as orders through food delivery platforms.
Customers grateful for stall
A customer named Mohd Shahriza Mat Daud told Harian Metro that he made his first visit to the stall after being attracted by a banner advertising it while passing through the area.

He noted that the stall had many options to choose from and praised its affordable prices.
Another customer, Zailani Abd Latiff, said he had visited the stall several times thanks to its RM3 price and wide variety.
“I often stop by whenever I pass through this area. When I come, I usually buy a lot for the whole family. There was even one time I spent RM50 because everything is RM3, so I could take a variety of dishes,” he added.
