A Malaysian woman who found herself stuck in Milan, Italy, after losing her passport has received direct help from none other than Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on July 1, Anwar said he had informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Malaysian Embassy in Italy to take immediate action.
I have informed @MalaysiaMFA and the Malaysian Embassy in Italy to take immediate action.”

Passport stolen near train station
The woman said on social media that her passport was stolen near the Santa Sofia train station on June 30.
She has since been stranded in Milan.
Dalila had already applied for an Emergency Travel Document from the Malaysian Embassy in Rome, but the application hit a snag: no authorised officer was available to sign the necessary paperwork, according to Malay Mail.
After her plea on social media gained attention, PM Anwar responded publicly and the embassy moved in to assist.
Following that, she posted a message of gratitude and later private her account.
