Civil servants under Grade 56 will receive RM500 in special Aidilfitri assistance, while government retirees will be given RM250, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today.
The one-off aid is aimed at easing financial preparations ahead of the Hari Raya celebration.
RM900 million allocated for initiative
According to FMT, Anwar said the total allocation for the initiative would amount to approximately RM900 million.

The assistance will benefit civil servants from Grade 56 and below, excluding those in top management positions.
He added that retired civil servants and pensioners will also receive their share of support in recognition of their past service.
More details on the disbursement date are expected to be released soon.
