KUALA LUMPUR – One of the biggest challenges and disappointments of the current pandemic situation is the loss of live theatre production opportunities. However, the powerful 20th PTUM team will not be stopped in the pursuit of performances!
Annually organised by PTUM committee members, Pesta Tanglung Universiti Malaya (PTUM) is one of the largest cultural programs registered under the Student Affairs Division of the University of Malaya.
Over the past 19 years, PTUM has mostly been based on physical activities, renowned for its four major events, Opening Ceremony, Exhibition, Carnival, and Cultural Night. PTUM’s stage play has always been a must-attend occasion for University of Malaya students. Last year, 19th PTUM Cultural Night accomplished huge success by attracting 2,000 spectators.
Due to the current pandemic situation, the stage play will be presented in a way like never before this year. There will be a combination of 3D scenes, green screens, physical scenes and three eras of costume design in the stage play!
This year, PTUM’s virtual stage play will be broadcasted on 10th Jan 2021 (Sunday), 8:00 p.m. at CloudTheatre. The theme for this stage play is “Dream”. Dreams are a physiological phenomenon produced as the brain processes information absorbed in real life during sleep. Repeated dreams bared her soul. To understand them, she embarked on a journey of no return. Yet, what would be waiting for her at the end of this path?
