KOTA BAHRU – A cyclist was caught on camera sexually harassing a 23-year-old woman who was on her way to work on Tuesday (April 27).
The footage showed the suspect, who was wearing a green shirt, loitering around on his bicycle for over a minute around Lorong Taman Limau Manis before he spotted the victim sitting in her parked car at the side of the road.
He then stopped by the car window and was seen gesturing for something from the woman but rode off when a few cars drove by.
After ensuring that the coast of clear, he returned to the woman’s car again, which puzzled her. Thinking that he was begging for money, she handed him an RM1 banknote through the window, which the suspect took and remained at the same spot.
To the woman’s shock, the suspect begins to unzip his pants and signaled to the woman to rub his genitals.
Realizing that a few vehicles were approaching, he quickly zipped his pants and cycled around the street once more to appear inconspicuous.
Taking advantage of this, the woman immediately got down from her car before the suspect could catch wind of her actions.
As she was about to close her car’s door, the suspect turned back towards her and rode up to her, causing her to run frantically.
Fortunately, the woman was eventually freed from her dilemma as the suspect gave up the chase after two passing cars slowed down to check on her as they had noticed something was amiss.
The woman has since lodged a police report and authorities are now on the hunt for the suspect.
