Diners at a food court in Sungai Bakap, Penang, were left fleeing for their lives after a group of masked men stormed the premise while armed with parangs (machetes).
One man died while two others were injured following the attack.
What clip showed
The incident was documented in a clip that circulated wildly on social media, where it showed the group of men surrounding three diners at the food court before attacking them.
Seconds later, the clip then showed a man slumped to the ground while covered in blood, while another lay motionless not far away.

Towards the end of the clip, medical personnel were seen taking one of the victims to an ambulance so that he could receive treatment at a hospital.
Motive unknown for now
According to MalaysiaGazette, the attack occurred at around 4.30pm yesterday (Dec 30) and a total of 15 men wearing face masks had assaulted the victims.
Unfortunately, one of the victims died while on the way to the hospital due to severe injuries while the other two are currently receiving treatment.

When contacted by the news portal, Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the incident and said police are working to determine the motive behind the attack.
An investigation has been launched under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
