Going out to public places can sometimes take a scary turn as there’s no telling when perverts might sneak up on you and take compromising photos without your knowledge.
A man who allegedly took upskirt photos of a woman at the popular Taman Connaught night market had a taste of swift street justice after he was restrained by several bystanders.
Peeping Tom subdued by bystanders
In a brief 7-second video shared on Xiaohongshu (XHS), it showed a middle-aged man being held to the ground by three other men, with one of them pinning his arms to prevent his escape.
A woman in a white tank top and shorts is seen making a phone call, presumably contacting the police to head over to the scene.
Several bystanders were also seen whipping out their phones and recording the incident as the man laid flat on his stomach and unable to move.
According to the caption, the man had taken an upskirt photo of a girl but was caught before he could flee.
Taken away by police
Another video shared by the same OP later showed the man being escorted away from the scene by a plainclothes police officer.
The OP added that it took less than 10 minutes for police to arrive and arrest the man and praised the officers for their swift response.
The public was also warned to be aware of their surroundings whenever they go out shopping and to keep an eye on their valuables.
