PAS has reportedly initiated a party-wide donation drive to assist Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad in settling RM825,000 in damages and legal costs following her defeat in a defamation suit filed by three DAP leaders.
The suit, filed by DAP stalwarts Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, and Teresa Kok, stemmed from comments Mastura made during the Kemaman by-election campaign, linking them to the late Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng.

On December 4, the George Town High Court ordered Mastura to pay RM300,000 to Kit Siang, RM250,000 to Guan Eng, and RM200,000 to Kok, in addition to RM25,000 in legal costs to each plaintiff.
The judgment also includes a 5% annual interest if payments are delayed.

Target set for committee members
In an internal letter sighted by FMT, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan stated that the party leadership had unanimously decided to support Mastura, whom they believe was fulfilling her duties as a PAS leader and not acting out of personal malice.

The central committee has carefully reviewed the situation and decided that the entire party must share the responsibility for settling this claim,” Takiyuddin reportedly wrote.
He instructed all members and leaders, from the central to branch levels, to contribute to a “jihad donation drive.”
According to the directive, central committee members and branches must raise at least RM500 each, while state chapters and federal, state, and division-level wings are required to contribute a minimum of RM20,000 each.
Takiyuddin warned that failure to pay the judgment amount could lead to bankruptcy proceedings against Mastura, disqualifying her as an MP and potentially triggering a by-election in Kepala Batas.
