Yesterday (Dec 18), we reported of a deadly crash which involved a Mercedes Benz and a Hyundai Matrix near a U-turn at Jalan Lencongan Barat in Alor Setar, Kedah, which claimed the lives of two individuals.
One of the victims was 18-year-old Chen Yixun (transliteration), whose death has left his parents deeply heartbroken and crushed by his untimely passing.

Speaking to China Press during Yixun’s funeral, his mother, Gloria, was overcome by emotion as she struggled to fight the tears when speaking about him.
Our child was our motivation. Now that we’ve lost this motivation, how can we go on living our lives without him?
“His future was just beginning, and there was still a long road ahead of him. He had so many dreams and aspirations that he never got to fulfill.
“Everything reminds me of him and it’s unbearable for me. I try not to let myself sink further into my grief, but I just can’t do it,” she sobbed.
Gloria described Yixun as a “well-mannered child” who always did his best to help the family. She also vowed to seek justice for his death, adding that she still cannot accept the fact that he was gone.
‘Stop accusing our son’
Meanwhile, Yixun’s father, Chen Zhouzhou (transliteration), lashed out at netizens who spread rumours that his son was the one who caused the deadly accident.
He added that based on the police’s investigation, the accident wasn’t caused by his son.
“If my son was truly at fault, he should bear responsibility. But if he wasn’t and netizens baselessly accuse him, how would the families of the other victims view us?
“People on the Internet are saying terrible things about him. Don’t these people have any respect for him?
“We are already deeply saddened by our child’s death and we hope netizens refrain from making irresponsible comments,” he said, adding that the family plans to file a police report after completing the funeral.
