A shocking discovery in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, has gone viral on social media, revealing an improvised shelter hidden inside a closed drainage system.
The video, originally uploaded by a Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP) enforcement officer named Azrie on TikTok, showcases the authorities uncovering the hidden living space.

In the video now uploaded on Facebook, MBSP officers can be seen lifting a cardboard cover that served as a barrier for the makeshift dwelling.
What surprised many was the presence of a bed, mattress, and a yellow blanket neatly arranged inside the drain.
Additionally, a small metal rack and other household items, including used cooking oil bottles, were found within the cramped space.
Removed from TikTok but still circulating online
The video, which quickly gained traction online, was later removed from TikTok for unknown reasons.
However, several netizens who had viewed it managed to save and share the footage on other social media platforms, such as Facebook.
