‘Not A Single Clean Toilet’ – M’sian Woman Shares Unpleasant Experience During Kelantan Trip

Many local netizens actually agreed with her.
With the school holidays in full swing, tourist destinations across Malaysia are seeing an influx of visitors looking to spend their break travelling and hunting for good food.

Kelantan is no exception, especially with the state being well known among Malaysians for its wide variety of local dishes.

However, one woman said her two-day trip there came with an unexpected “culture shock” after she struggled to find a clean public toilet.

‘Not a single one was clean’

According to a Threads post, the woman claimed that she had visited several locations across Kelantan over the span of two days but was disappointed by the condition of the public toilets she encountered.

After two days of being at several places in Kelantan, there wasn’t a single clean public toilet.

“Not even one public toilet was in proper condition, including the paid ones. Why?” she wrote.

According to her, even toilets that required visitors to pay a fee appeared poorly maintained, leaving her with a less-than-pleasant impression of the public facilities available.

Another traveller shares similar experience

Her post soon attracted attention, with another traveller claiming they had faced a similar situation during a previous trip to Kelantan.

The individual said they had initially planned to explore the state and try its food, but encountered problems with water supply at several places.

I went to Kelantan the other day thinking I could walk around and look for food.

“Even the toilet at a petrol station had no water. At the hotel, the water supply also kept getting cut off,” the person claimed.

Some Kelantan locals agree

Interestingly, several Kelantan residents also responded to the post and said they understood where the woman was coming from.

“I’m from Kelantan and I agree. One thing I don’t like is that whenever people complain about anything related to Kelantan, there will always be some who can’t accept it. So how are things supposed to improve? I’ve posted or commented before about things that need to be improved in Kelantan, but many people just ended up judging and getting angry.”
