Khairul Aming: No Walk-Ins For Politicians At Rembayung, Must Be ‘Fair’ For Everyone

No exceptions.
Khairul Aming, best known for his recipes and best-selling products such as Sambal Nyet Berapi and Dendeng Nyet Berapi, made headlines when he officially launched his own restaurant, Rembayung, on Jan 6.

Not long after the successful launch, the entrepreneur has had to contend with various grouses from the public such as food prices and the inability to make bookings due to overwhelming response.

‘No walk-ins even if you’re a politician’

In a recent TikTok Live video, Khairul Aming touched on the subject of walk-ins, which is not allowed at Rembayung for the time being.

He said that the same rule applies not only to ordinary Malaysians, but also those who hold positions of power.

Khairul Aming also noted that maintaining and providing fair service to everyone is not easy feat as some may feel snubbed by it.

I have told the staff about this. I want to be fair and it’s not easy. We may appear to be cruel, heartless and arrogant, but that’s the price you pay for being fair,” he added.

Battled glitches and fatigue

Since Rembayung’s launch, Khairul Aming has worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Not long after the restaurant was unveiled to the public, its booking website crashed after receiving more than 3,000 reservations.

On top of that, the entrepreneur has also pushed himself beyond his physical limit just to ensure that all guests were attended to.

This comes after he was hospitalised for dehydration and exhaustion after spending time to meet and greet 7,000 customers at the restaurant.
